Manchester City are set to sign Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho, according to the player’s dad.
The striker was named the best player at November’s Under-17 World Cup after netting six goals as his country triumphed in the United Arab Emirates.
He has since been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal but his father, James, has now claimed Iheanacho will instead link up with Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
He told MTNFootball.com: "We prayed [on Monday] and, after due consultations with family members, we came up with Manchester City, believing he has a future there.
"That is where he will be uplifted."
